REFORESTATION AND ENVIRONMENT PRESERVATION

At Triunfo, Petroflex is implementing the Caroba reforestation project, which is designed to preserve the biodiversity of this region, while enhancing its landscape and helping control its climate, protecting wildlife and the green belt surrounding this petrochemical complex.

At Cabo, Petroflex has a seat on the Pernambuco River Basins Committee and also participates in the project for reclaiming the riverbank forests along the Pirapama River. The industrial designs for the Cabo plant were altered, eliminating the distillation column with changes in the alignment of the galleries, resulting in environmental improvements.

Eleven hectares of land once covered by solid waste dumps have already been reclaimed by Petroflex at Caxias, through replanting seedlings of native mangrove swamp species grown in the nursery established alongside its Plant. This nursery also provides environmental education and training for a variety of outreach projects, with visits by employees eager to help with these efforts.
