TREATMENT OF LIQUID WASTES

In 1985, Petroflex was one of the first companies in Rio de Janeiro State to build a primary physical and chemical treatment station for its liquid wastes. This station was expanded in 1992 through the addition of a secondary (biological) treatment stage. Since then, it has endeavored to ensure that its output complies constantly with legal standards.

The capacity of the Petroflex Industrial Wastewaters Treatment Station at Duque de Caxias was expanded by 30%, with 120% of its liquid wastes equalization capacity, installing a third liquid wastes treatment phase that consists of two stabilization ponds.

The modern industrial plant at Cabo, Pernambuco uses technology in solution, instead of emulsion, which produces a negligible amount of waste materials. The liquid wastes are treated at a biological station.

The Triunfo plant uses the liquid wastes treatment plant run by this Petrochemical Complex.
