Although formally incorporated only in July 2004, the roots of Lanxess in Brazil extend back to 1896, when the enterprise of which it was a part started up operations as a sales representation firm. Today, Lanxess is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of chemical products, with sales topping US$ 6.94 billion and around 16,000 employees in 21 countries.

With offices at some 47 locations, the core business of Lanxess is the development, fabrication and sale of chemical, rubber and plastic goods. In Brazil, Lanxess employs close on 400 people in São Paulo, Porto Feliz (upstate São Paulo) and São Leopoldo (Rio Grande do Sul State), with an office in Recife (Pernambuco State).
